Something hit me, and I watched it again, and realized that Padme's first reaction was similar to Arya's first reaction to Eragon and Anakin's display of affection. When Anakin first reveals his feelings to Padme, she rejects him, saying its impossible. Just like Arya. Arya and Padme both hold high political status as well.
